It is believed that the manufacturer of Taxotere (Sanofi-Aventis) did not warn patients and doctors of the increased risks of permanent alopecia (loss of hair).
Claims are being filed against Sanofi-Aventis by women who suffered permanent hair loss because they were prescribed Taxotere.
Attorneys state that if the maker had properly alerted of the dangers, patients would have been prescribed a different chemotherapy medication which is more effective than Taxotere, and does not result in permanent hair loss.
The cost per retainer is around the $1,250 to $1,500 range at this time.
